We, The Thomas J. Blocker Society – the health careers alumni of Morehouse College, are excited to embark on a new endeavor that will positively shape the future generation of health care for decades to come. The time is right to assemble our talents and resources to leave a lasting legacy for the current and future Men of Morehouse interested in the health professions. We are excited to formally announce the formation of the Thomas J. Blocker Society Foundation, a 501(c)3 non profit organization designed to aid the next generation of minority healthcare professionals.
Moreover, The Blocker Society is introducing the first phase of our funding effort to equip our newly formed foundation with the tools to increase the pipeline into the health professions. We are asking all Blocker Society members, other health career alumni and supporters to become a member of “The 300!” With a minimum commitment of $10,000 over a 5 year donation cycle, we can raise over 4 million to support our society’s programming as well as provide scholarships and support for the Morehouse College Office of Health Professions. By reaching the very attainable goals set forth in this first phase of our capital campaign proposal, we can ensure that the same world class education we all received is preserved and enhanced for those who come after us. It is our duty and privilege to leave the world and “Dear old Morehouse” better than we found her. I thank you in advance for your contribution and appreciate your time and dedication to such a worthy and noble cause.
To achieve these lofty goals, our foundation has partnered with Purpose Possible, an Atlanta based fundraising consulting firm, that focuses on forming meaningful connections to your community. Purpose Possible has already proven to be a valuable resource in the process of forming our capital campaign goals and deliverables. We would like to thank Mrs. Kari Hudson and her team at Purpose Possible for assisting in the pursuit of our goals.
