TJBS PROGRAM

Health Careers Intensive Clinical Exposure Program

This program is a two week clinical shadowing program where sophomore and junior pre-med students observe a Morehouse alumnus in health care for approx 60-80 hrs of intensive clinical experience. The program is designed for students to observe a medical or dental specialty of interest with an alum for one-on-one education, clinical exposure and mentorship. Our students then document their experiences and share them with the program at a closing ceremony. Students have shadowed alums in the fields of internal medicine, anesthesiology, gastroenterology, cardiology, pediatrics, plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, dentistry and family medicine. This program is unique as one of the few, if not only, programs of its kind in the country, operated by health professions alumni. We have partnered with Biology faculty member Dr. Triscia Henderickson and the Office of Health Professions on this program since 2019.
